Smart fridges: Instacart + Samsung transform the kitchen experience

Ever imagined your fridge helping you shop? That’s exactly what the new partnership between Instacart and Samsung is bringing to the table! With food recognition technology and Instacart API integration, you’ll now be able to order groceries right from your fridge’s screen.

This innovation debuts on the Bespoke 2025 models and will later roll out to other models via a software update. AI Vision can recognize up to 37 foods, such as fruits and vegetables, and also lets users manually enter items it doesn’t recognize.

This collaboration isn’t just about convenience; it’s also about reimagining how we connect technology to everyday life—and, above all, about how data and information are key to making the shopping process more dynamic.

Here at Alice Wonders, we offer technologies like Granometrics.io, which maps in-store behavior and also uses intelligence to deliver insights and improve experiences at the point of sale.

Canada Goose’s Immersive Interactive Exhibition in Shanghai

Canada Goose brought a one-of-a-kind sensory experience to Shanghai to celebrate its 67-year legacy. Located at W1, 280 North Maoming Road, the exhibition offers an interactive journey divided into immersive zones.

In the heritage zone, visitors explore the brand’s legacy through iconic pieces that highlight its pursuit of performance and luxury. In the capsule collection zone, new designs are showcased, blending craftsmanship and innovation. The highlight is the immersive Thermal Experience Index (TEI) zone, where visitors can experience the science behind the technology that keeps the brand’s garments warm.

Using technology as a finishing element is a key feature of this exhibition. Technology not only complements the aesthetics and design of the spaces but also deepens the audience’s connection with the brand, making the experience even more immersive and engaging.

Hair You Go: Ulta Beauty uses AI to preview new haircuts

Ulta Beauty took an innovative step by using Nvidia’s generative AI to create a unique experience for previewing haircuts and hair colors.

The GLAMlab Hair Try On tool lets customers try out new hairstyles realistically before committing to any change, all directly on Ulta’s website or app.

The technology behind this innovation generates images of hair in a variety of styles, letting shoppers see how they’d look with different cuts and colors. This not only offers a fun way to explore new looks but also helps customers step outside their comfort zone without having to make an immediate physical change.

And here at Alice Wonders, we have something just as exciting for Brazil! In partnership with global technology leaders, we offer a Virtual Try-On feature that lets our clients try different product styles in both the physical and digital worlds.

This technology enables a more personalized shopping journey, where consumers can see how products would look before making a purchase, delivering a more immersive and confident shopping experience.

Amazon and Hyundai join forces to revolutionize automotive retail

Amazon took a major step toward modernizing the automotive market with the launch of Amazon Autos, in partnership with Hyundai.

Customers can now browse, finance, and even pick up their Hyundai vehicles directly through the Amazon platform, bringing the convenience of a simple, transparent buying process. The experience includes options such as:

  1. Detailed vehicle research;
  2. Reviews from other consumers;
  3. Online financing.

For buyers, the price shown at the end of the transaction is the total amount, including taxes and fees, along with an efficient trade-in appraisal system—all without leaving home.

For car dealers, this shift represents a unique opportunity to reach millions of new customers by leveraging Amazon’s vast reach.

With Amazon Autos, dealerships can connect directly with consumers looking for a convenient, efficient digital buying experience. This streamlines the traditional sales process and increases dealership visibility, boosting sales by integrating technology and online services.

This innovation shows how digital platforms can transform traditional industries, offering consumers the convenience of a 100% online purchase while opening up new opportunities for car dealers to reach a broader, more diverse audience.

Office of the Future in Hangzhou: turning the workplace into a corporate experience

The new office showroom in Hangzhou, designed by Ippolito Fleitz Group, offers a glimpse of what the next-generation workplace could look like. Located in the heart of Hangzhou, China’s e-commerce capital, the project isn’t just a revolution in corporate space design. It’s a true experience that brings together innovation, functionality, and comfort.

With growing demand for spaces that encourage collaboration, creativity, and well-being, this office’s design strikes a perfect balance between the need for productivity and moments of relaxation. It goes beyond being just a place to work, becoming a space where employees can connect, exchange ideas, and grow, reflecting a modern, people-centered corporate culture.

This concept also carries over into the customer experience. In environments like this, companies can not only serve clients more efficiently but also create a welcoming, inspiring setting for their meetings.

The combination of collaborative work areas with more private, comfortable spaces creates the perfect setting for hosting clients, adding more value to interactions and fostering long-term partnerships.

️ Siam Discovery: Bangkok’s must-visit shopping destination

Considered one of Bangkok’s leading shopping centers, Siam Discovery goes beyond its vast product offering and stands out with an innovative events program. The mall is the perfect place for anyone looking to immerse themselves in unique experiences. With a young, trend-savvy audience, Siam Discovery has become a benchmark for art, design, and culture, attracting locals and tourists alike.

Its Future LAB series, now in its fourth edition, is redefining Bangkok’s art and design scene. The event’s latest installation features a first-ever collaboration with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, presenting a striking 2.4 x 10-meter typographic sculpture on the Pathumwan Skywalk.

This fusion of cultural heritage and modern design delivers a unique visual experience that highlights Bangkok’s identity. On top of that, Siam Discovery not only offers products from renowned brands but also lets visitors explore creating personalized souvenirs, with support from Thai design brands such as Yuedpao and ODS.

If you’re in Bangkok, Siam Discovery is a must-visit destination for a complete and innovative shopping experience.

sensoriais

Welcome to #WonderNews: the Alice Wonders newsletter that connects you to the top trends in technology, design, architecture and customer-focused sensory experiences that strengthen brands in physical stores, in Brazil and around the world.

In an increasingly dynamic consumer market, these areas play an essential role in building spaces and interactions that delight customers and create emotional connections with them.

With that in mind, follow along for valuable insights, innovations and ideas that inspire transformation and drive brand success. Grab your coffee and enjoy the read. ☕️

Pop-ups as sensory and social experiences

CASETiFY teamed up with Butter Bear to create a pop-up as sweet as it is strategic: the Spring Dessert Shop, which took over the Ground Plaza at MixC Phase II in Hangzhou. With a pastel aesthetic, a playful vibe and a carefully crafted kawaii universe, the activation taps into the power of enchantment to attract, engage and generate content.

At the heart of the experience: a limited-edition gift box — available only at the pop-up — and surprise giveaways that encourage spontaneous sharing and in-person visits to the space.

The activation reinforces a trend: retail has been betting on temporary spaces as platforms to test new collections, tell brand stories and spark desire in real time, with a strong focus on sensory experiences.

By combining Butter Bear’s visual appeal with CASETiFY’s trendy tech accessories, the collaboration shows how narrative, collection and experience can coexist to create something memorable that goes far beyond the point of sale.

How Metic Lounge turns design into sensory immersion

In the middle of bustling Shanghai, Metic Lounge, designed by All Design Studio (ADS), is an excellent example of how retail — and entertainment — can harness architecture, technology and emotion to create memorable, sensory experiences.

With a quarter-sphere layout, the space was designed to work as a “magnetic field.” Far from being merely poetic, this metaphor translates into an immersive environment with intentional control of light, sound and spatiality. Upon entering, visitors are guided through a tall, arched corridor that shuts out outside noise and heightens the sense of depth.

Beyond being visually striking, the project uses sensory strategies as an experience tool. Dynamic lighting, reflective materials and the arrangement of furniture lead the user journey through different atmospheres, from the central bar to private KTV rooms and a cigar room.

For brands and businesses, Metic Lounge is a case study showing how spaces can go beyond aesthetics and become immersive environments designed for emotional, social and strategic connection.

In practice, it’s the kind of activation that delivers more than a physical location: it offers context, memory and meaning — exactly what today’s consumers are looking for when they leave home.

Amouage reopens in Oman and embraces emotioneering to evoke emotion

High-end perfume house AMOUAGE has just reopened its flagship in Oman with a design that doesn’t just impress — it moves. And it does so with a strategy that’s increasingly common in global retail: emotioneering.

With a giant frankincense tree rising through two floors, the boutique turns architecture into narrative, design into symbol and space into feeling. Everything in the store communicates the brand’s territory, from its origins in the Omani desert to window displays conceived as true works of art.

Nothing there is generic. From light tones reminiscent of the dunes to organic shapes that connect customers to the local landscape, the experience is sensory, symbolic and deeply emotional.

More than a store, the AMOUAGE flagship is a manifesto. It’s an example of how the point of sale can become a point of fascination — when it brings together storytelling, visual identity and emotional intent.

This is the kind of project that doesn’t just sell a luxury product: it sells belonging, culture and memory. For brands looking to stand out in the premium market, the lesson is clear: visual impact isn’t enough — you need emotional impact.

Glossier turns its fragrance launch into a multisensory experience

To launch the Glossier You Fleur fragrance, the brand transformed Galerie Joseph in Paris into an immersive field where technology and emotion came together poetically.

Created in collaboration with Random Studio, the activation took sensory storytelling to a new level: digital flowers that reacted to visitors’ movements, fragrances represented by pavilions of light, sound and color, and artificial intelligence that analyzed facial expressions and posture to generate personalized poetry in real time.

Yes, the technology read your face and gave you back a feeling. A brand experience where digital isn’t a tool, but an active part of the emotional narrative.

This fusion of spatial AI, emotion recognition and interactive design shows how the retail of the future is already being written — and felt. Instead of explaining a product, Glossier chose to make consumers feel it.

And that’s where the project’s strength lies: a smart use of technology in service of sensitivity, turning the point of sale into a point of deep connection with the audience.

Data that connects people and products

Old Navy has just taken an important step in its digital transformation: it partnered with Radar, a solution that combines RFID, computer vision, and AI to track products with almost surgical precision — in real time and at the point of sale.

The goal? To give store associates item-level inventory location data, optimizing replenishment, customer service, and the omnichannel experience.

But what stood out most about this project went beyond the technology itself: a clear bet on the power of data as the engine of the experience. Old Navy wants to run its physical stores with the same precision as an e-commerce operation. And that’s only possible with smart, real-time data.

This kind of initiative ties directly into what we’ve created here at Alice Wonders: Granometrics — our sensor built into our technologies that analyzes consumer flow, behavior, and interaction in the physical space. Which area gets the most traffic? Which product draws the most attention? Where do customers spend the most time?

This is data that, when used well, helps brands personalize their physical environments based on what truly matters to their audience.

Because, in the end, technology alone doesn’t transform anything. But technology with purpose and data intelligence… now that’s a game changer.

The store became a stage at H&M

H&M wiped its entire Instagram feed. It threw a surprise Charli XCX show in Times Square. It turned its website into a big shoppable showcase of experiences.

The holiday collection became just the backdrop. What the brand really did was reposition the point of sale as a place for cultural experiences, connecting with the lifestyle of Gen Z and Gen Alpha.

Beyond its revamped digital content, H&M invested in physical events, influencer campaigns, and integrated activations across multiple channels — all to make the brand more present in young consumers’ everyday lives (and feeds).

The strategy shows how brick-and-mortar retail can — and should — stop being just a place to shop. And become a space for connection, engagement, and entertainment. The new generation wants more than products: they want to be part of something.

Welcome to #WonderNews: the Alice Wonders newsletter that connects you to the top trends in technology, design, architecture, and customer-focused, brand-building experiences for physical stores, in Brazil and around the world.

Urban opens its first flagship at Morumbi Shopping and bets on customer experience

Urban, a brand of Aramis Inc., has just opened its flagship at Morumbi Shopping. The space’s big differentiator is the central fitting room, designed to encourage customers to try on the brand’s innovative pieces, which blend technology and minimalist design.

Choosing this mall was a strategic move, given its heavy foot traffic and Urban’s strong sales within Aramis. And, of course, expectations for this project couldn’t be higher. Ghiselle Abreu, Brand Experience Manager at Aramis, tells us more:

With the opening of Urban’s first store in São Paulo, we expect to build recognition and accelerate the expansion of this innovative concept. We believe the combination of technology, sophistication, and practicality will increasingly win over the modern man. Our goal is to exceed our customers’ expectations from the very first try-on. The brand’s future is bright!

Camila Salek, CEO and Founding Partner of Vimer Retail Experience, the company responsible for the design that brought the space to life, shares more about the core idea behind the project and how it was developed:

The fitting room is the heart of the store, the center of an experience that connects technology, usability, and interaction. We created a space where trying something on isn’t the end of the journey, but the beginning of a new relationship with the brand. At Urban, if you try it, you take it — which is why customers are never more than two steps away from this try-on hub.

Slow Retail at New Balance

Word on the street is that brick-and-mortar retail is in decline, but the truth is different: it’s reinventing itself. Brands that understand this are turning their spaces into much more than stores — they’re living platforms for connection, where every detail tells a story.

New Balance took this concept to another level with its renovated headquarters at Boston Landing. The space is an immersive experience that captures the brand’s essence. Industrial elements blend with warm materials, striking a balance between performance and lifestyle. Every corner of the headquarters invites discovery: from its tradition of craftsmanship to the brand’s impact on sports and culture.

Boston Landing has become a living manifesto for New Balance. Proof that physical retail is still going strong, evolving to build deeper, more authentic bonds with its audience.

Puma x F1: adrenaline, streetwear, and the future of immersive retail

If there’s one thing Puma does well, it’s turning shopping into an experience. After the success of the Speedcat Pop-Up, the brand is hitting the gas even harder with “Beyond the Roar,” its new installation at the West Bund Dream Center in Shanghai.

This time, the world of Formula 1 comes to life in a realistic race car replica, where every detail takes visitors behind the scenes of motorsport. A few things make the immersion even more complete, such as:

  • Legendary items;
  • New racing suits for the 2025 season;
  • Exclusive collaborations with Ferrari;
  • And more.

The fusion of performance and streetwear is still going strong, with pieces that reinterpret track aesthetics for the streets.

The space isn’t just a product showcase – it’s a portal into motorsport culture. With interactive activations and designs created exclusively for Chinese audiences, Puma reinforces that the future of retail goes far beyond the transaction: it lies in emotion, experience, and connection.

More technology at the new Bath & Body Works

Bath & Body Works is giving its stores a fresh look with the Gingham+ concept, an updated design that combines sensory experience and technology. The new format includes wider aisles, intuitive navigation, and dedicated zones for specific product categories.

In some locations, customers can test fragrances at interactive scent bars, while explainer videos help them discover new products. The focus? Winning over Gen Z, an audience that values immersive experiences before making a purchase.

To that end, the brand invested in softer color palettes and a more relaxing atmosphere. The change is part of a bigger strategy: making the brand even more youthful and strengthening its presence outside malls, where it already operates around 60% of its stores.

The ASMR trend in Hong Kong: when will it reach retail?

The exhibition “WEIRD SENSATION FEELS GOOD: The World of ASMR,” curated by James Taylor-Foster, has just made its Asian debut, bringing a unique multisensory experience to Hong Kong. Created in partnership with ArkDes (Sweden’s National Center for Architecture and Design) and London’s Design Museum, the show explores the impact of ASMR on contemporary culture.

A global phenomenon, ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) is known for evoking a sense of calm and well-being. At the new exhibition at AIRSIDE, Hong Kong, visitors can explore never-before-seen works by local artists, experience the soundscape of the city, and even create their own ASMR pieces using everyday objects.

Other highlights include the ASMR Arena, a cozy space lined with soft fabrics, and a room dedicated to Bob Ross, the iconic TV artist. The exhibition invites reflection on loneliness and the new forms of connection made possible through ASMR.

As ASMR gains ground in museums and galleries, its influence on retail is only a matter of time. Brands are already tapping into the sensory potential of ASMR to create immersive experiences that boost customer engagement, from ad campaigns featuring relaxing sounds to physical spaces that stimulate touch and hearing.

Alice Wonders brings digital innovation to the Pharmacy of the Future

From March 18 to 20, Alice Wonders took part in the Farmácia do Futuro (Pharmacy of the Future), one of the highlights of Abradilan Conexão Farma 2025, held at Expo Center Norte in São Paulo. The startup, a leader in digital experiences for retail, showcased its LIFT+ and SCAN+ solutions, which combine interactivity and data intelligence to enhance the shopper journey at the point of sale.

With LIFT+, when customers pick up a product from the shelf, they automatically see explanatory video content, making the experience more intuitive and informative. SCAN+, in turn, turns the barcode into an engagement trigger, offering discounts, detailed information, and loyalty programs.

Beyond improving the customer experience, these technologies generate strategic data for pharmacies, helping them make decisions based on actual consumer behavior.
